This season's 24AW Alishan theme echoes the work "Atlas of Taiwan Flora," compiled and published by Japanese botanist Bunzo Hayata between 1905 and 1924, following his visits to Taiwan. This book compiles the research of Western scholars from 1854 to 1895, documenting 170 families, 1,197 genera, 3,568 species, and 79 varieties. Approximately 1,200 of these species are newly discovered in Taiwan, with rare species such as the red cypress being prominent.
